§ The F-Head™ · Flush fastener

The F-Head™ flush fastener.

A screw whose drive disappears. The F-Head™ is a countersunk machine screw with its drive hidden under a captive plunger, so the head finishes as one smooth, level disc: a flush screw with no slot to see.

The first standard screw to hide its drive.

Slotted, Phillips, hex: every screw drive ever made has been a different-shaped hole in the head. The F-Head™ is the first standard screw to hide its drive altogether: the drive is still there when you need it, and gone when you don't. Developed in Daytona Beach and recognised with Gold at both the iF Design Award and the IDEA Award in 2026.

01

Nothing to catch

No open recess for cloth, skin, rope, dirt or bacteria. Run your hand across it and you won't find it.

02

The bit you already own

A standard 6-lobe bit opens the drive. No special key, no proprietary tool.

03

316 stainless, <6 µm

Marine-grade 316 stainless with less than 6 microns of clearance between plunger and head.

§ How it works

The drive sits inside.

  1. 01 · Closed

The head is one continuous, level surface. No slot, no socket, nothing to see.

  2. 02 · Press

A standard 6-lobe bit pushes the captive plunger down and the drive appears.

  3. 03 · Drive

Install or remove it like any machine screw, with full torque.

  4. 04 · Release

Lift the bit and the plunger springs back. The surface closes behind it.

§ Questions

Asked plainly.

What is an F-Head™ flush fastener?

A countersunk machine screw with its drive concealed inside the head under a captive plunger. Installed, the head is a smooth, level disc with no visible slot or socket.

What tool do I need?

A standard 6-lobe bit. Pressing it into the head pushes the plunger down to reveal the drive; lifting it lets the plunger spring back flush.

Is it tamper-proof?

No. It is designed to be hidden, not locked: anyone with a standard 6-lobe bit can open it.

What sizes are available?

Metric M3, M4, M5, M6 and M8, and imperial #6-32, #8-32, #10-24, #10-32, 1/4-20, 5/16-18 and 3/8-16, in a range of lengths. Every part has a drawing and STEP file on the Shop page.
